Jingle Bells!

Holy reindeer poo.....Santa is coming! I know so many people find it a really stressful time of year but I LOVE Christmas! I love the shopping, the decorating, the wrapping and of course the overindulgence on ham & wine. But mostly I love sharing the day with loved ones. I do get it though, Christmas can place a lot of pressure on people, families & budgets. We tend to place so much pressure on ourselves for the perfect day & it's easy to get caught up in all the "stuff." When I do start to lose sight of the big jolly red guy & start to freak out that my New York baked cheese cake will not turn out perfect, I try to recentre, collect my thoughts & grab some frankincense. The king of oils is my number one go to in times of stress & anxiety. I simply inhale, pop a drop under my tongue or use Frankie in the diffuser. But of course there are so many other oils that can help get you through the silly season. Here's a few of my fave oils & ways you can use them to help you survive Christmas......

STRESS LESS - I love vetiver almost as much as I love frankincense. Combine these two beautiful earthy tones with lavender in your diffuser at night you and you will be chill a.f. It's also the best combo to help send you off for some serious zzzzzzz .

ZAP THE HANGOVER - Ok so no one wants a hang over for Christmas, but many of us get them anyway! Lavender & peppermint rubbed onto the temples & down the back of the neck sorts the headache out straight away. DigestZen rubbed onto the tummy or a drop in water will calm the tummy churn & don't forget some lemon in your water to rehydrate & help cleanse that poor old liver.

WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GOGO - Catching up with friends, late night shopping, Christmas parties, driving around from suburb to suburb to check out the Christmas lights are all so much fun but can leave even the most seasoned Chrissy lover a little tired. Enter peppermint! This is pretty much a morning staple for me 365 days a year but at the moment I love diffusing 6 drops of peppermint with 4 drops of grapefruit. It's fresh, vibrant & just puts a pep in my step!

KISS THE COOK - I love using doTERRA oils in my cooking & when you jump on these ideas you will want to kiss me too! An age old Christmas staple is gingerbread cookies, it's just not Christmas without them! I use a Donna Hay recipie & replace the powdered ginger with around 6 drops of doTERRA ginger essential oil. My absolute favourite part of Christmas is the glazed ham. This year instead of using the rind of about 100 oranges (ok maybe not 100 but at least 3-4) I'll be using a few drops of wild orange in our ham baste, YUM! And finally I'll be using my old fave peppermint to make Choc-Peppermint Christmas Bark (recipie below).

I hope you can use a few of these ideas to help make your Christmas as relaxing & stress free as possible. If you are yet to find out the many ways essential oils can help your health & wellbeing, come along to one of our workshops, you will never look back!

From our maison saine family to yours, we wish you a very, very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
